Closet Stamper, Part III

Published by onestampinmama under Stamp closet

Today I am going to share how I store my punches. I am self proclaimed punch hoarder. I *heart* punches very much! I think I have everyone that Stampin’ Up! has released plus a few more! I can’t wait for the next Idea Book & Catalog to come out since I know there will be new punches and a scallop border punch! It will be mine, mine I tell you!

A little secret about “my space” ok two, no kids allowed, ever. Every once in a while I go in and shut the door just to marvel at my paper, punches, stamps etc. It makes me happy. I could only imagine what that feeling may be if I had an entire room full!

Ok on to the picture and the details.

I went to Target and found the really cheap curtain rods. They are mounted on a piece of MDF board. I have 5 rows. Because this picture is on the wall as you enter and turn, it is too hard to get a full view. Just not enough room. Many stampers are using this type of rod or the ones found at Ikea that are chrome. I think they are in the kitchen department. Either rod you choose to use, it is just a smart way to store punches for easy access.

Closet Stamper, Part II

Published by onestampinmama under Stamp closet

When you are in such a small space as mine, every inch needs to be utilized! Thus, very efficient ink pad storage! The unit that you see was built by my hubby after he watched me struggle for so long keeping my ever growing ink pad collection organized. I told him what I wanted as far as slots and storage and after about 5 hours in the garage, this beauty emerged! I love having my favorite ribbon easily accessible as well as my re-inkers next to the coordinating ink pad.  I also love that it created a top shelf for my markers and tins.  It also created a small space of wall to mount the old Stampin’ up! stack n store system. When my collection grew beyond the “big one”, I had him build a smaller version for more miscellaneous ink pads that is mounted up top.

If you’d like to have one of these, every so often my hubby still builds them. Feel free to email me for more info.

Closet Stamper, Part I

Published by onestampinmama under Stamp closet

Yes, I am a Closet Stamper! I am not one of those really lucky ones to have a room dedicated to my love of scrapbooking and stamping! But I feel fortunate to have what I do have.  In the next few days, I am going to share with you how I keep myself organized in a coat closet but, first let me share with you a few little facts about “my space”!

My space is a coat closet that sits under a stairwell. It measures approx. 36″ deep by 97″ long. Only a portion of the space can you stand up all the way. I use the white wire square cube system that you can find at Target. I was able to fit 19 cubes in a tiered fashion in this space. I also used zip ties and extra shelves to create individual shelves for paper/stamp/etc.  storage.

Which brings me to the first  hot topic….How do you store your paper?

I store my 12×12 paper in iris paper storage containers. I purchased mine at Michael’s, they retail for about $7.99 but usually go on sale every so often for $4.99. I have them labled one each for the colors families, plus chipboard and ribbon not on a roll. I also use these for scrapbooking and are labeled according to theme or child.  They slide in and out easily making it a breeze to get to what I am looking for or to take to the counter that I stamp/scrapbook on. This is a great storage solution for a small space. I can get 3 containers to one cube.

My 8.5×11 paper is also stored by color family, vertically in heavy duty office quality magazine style holders. I purchased these an office supply store for around $5.99 each. I find that I use my 8.5×11 paper the most so that sits on top the long shelf to have instant and easy access to. It also helps to have all of them lined up so I can see if I am running low on any particular color and can easily grab the cardstock I am looking for.

Getting really great pictures was quite the challenge because of the small space and the angle… I hope these will give you an idea of what you can do in a small space as well.

Stay tuned, I have more to share!

This little cutie is heading to the east coast. I hope it brings a little cheer to the recipient.

I am a sucker for strawberries. I *love* to eat them, stamp them, you name it! This card uses the strawberry from SU! Tart and Tangy set. I initially bought this set strictly for the strawberry, but I have to admit that the other images are growing on me.

card details: Base is basic black, DSP is from the Summer Picnic collection, strawberry is stamped on shimmery white and layered with wild wasabi tx cs (corners are punched with ticket corner punch) and real red cs (edges were distressed with the cutter kit distresser tool) . The center circle is punched with the 1 1/4 circle punch and then the punches plus classy brass template was used for the piercing. wild wasabi striped ribbon and red brads, and SAB rub ons for the sentiment finish off this card!

Thanks for stopping by!
